This forum is an aspect of the vajra-sangha. Ain't it? Now that there are well over 100 folks here, I thought it might be interesting to find out a little about who we are. Or at least give this forum a chance to prove that it is not as dead-beat as 99% of the other SU forums. Dare we?
Without getting into too much detail (unless you want to), how many of you are associated with a lineage of practice and have formally taken refuge?
I was fortunate to meet Nyingma lamas and took refuge vows for the first time in 1989.
Any other Nyingmapas here?
Looking forward to hearing from you all. |

Nearly 150 folks here. I wonder if anyone else will share? Sometimes I wonder why people even join these forums. Perhaps it can be summed up by Chauncey Gardner, who said, "I like to watch." |

They're a younger group and very lively I hear, though I haven't made it to any of their retreats. They are more Mayayana than we are, though the view is still very similar to ours.
These groups usually turn into some sort of online fight about who's more enlightened or whatever, which is why I usually avoid them. Maybe it's a good thing that nobody has much to say. Hopefully they're all busy practicing! |

I am a member of a few online groups which have been happening for years which I am happy to say, have never degenerated into such meaningless contests. Of course, if everyone is busy practicing, how wonderful! Somehow I doubt it. In any case, why join one of these forums if you don't want to participate - doesn't that simply turn it into a form of the old style media where you simply sit back and watch while others create the dialogue? If you have time to read this, why not take a few minutes to comment on your association with the tradition; i think we would all appreciate discovering the diversity we have here. |

| Sponsor | kundrol | Jul 19, 7:09pm | | Well, actually I have contributed from time to time. I'm away from this computer a lot and have a busy life, so that's my best excuse. If you've been to hear my teachers, then you know what we do. If anyone else is interested, then let's hear from them! Hello out there - anybody home? |

Pathetic...
I am leaving this tomb. |
